I still listen to 90s music. Like, every day. But probably not the kind you're thinking of. I'm not blasting Backstreet Boys or getting all misty-eyed over Natalie Imbruglia (remember her?). No, my 90s nostalgia is all about drum and bass, jungle, breakbeat, and all those incredible electronic genres that were born in that decade - only to fade out just as fast. Well, not completely. Thanks to the internet, I can still find hours and hours of these beats on YouTube, a digital time capsule for the golden age of electronic music.

I always see those TikToks where people on the street get asked what they're listening to, and it's always some new indie band with a name that sounds like a WiFi password. I can't help but wonder - if they stopped me and I said, "Oh, just Second Toughest in the Infants by Underworld" or "Richard D. James Album by Aphex Twin," would they even know what I'm talking about? Probably not. But for me, this is still the best music when I need to focus, get things done, or just feel like I'm back in an era where the future felt limitless, everything had a rave version, and nobody could send you a text if they weren't at home.
